Wednesday night - I had another lucid dreaming experience. I actually realized I was dreaming twice during the dream, but forgot the first time before I could realize the ramifications. The second time, I was standing outside my workplace (when I'm not remote) and there were massive piles of alumina that had somehow poured out of the building. It occurred to me that there was more alumina than could have fit inside the building. When I realized I was dreaming, I did something to sort of solidify the experience - almost like I was waking up inside the dream. I knew there were things I should investigate since I had the opportunity, but I couldn't remember what. (This seems to be a common issue for me, remembering/thinking clearly during a lucid dream.) I decided to look at my reflection, since I could choose to look however I wanted, and found that I basically looked like the younger, thinner (maybe slightly taller) version of myself- but better dressed and a different haircut. I was relieved (or maybe satisfied?) that I chose to look like myself and didn't want to look like someone else. Unfortunately, my alarm went off at that point. (I do remember bits of my dream before the lucid part, along with more details of the lucid dream, but I'm typing on my phone - ugh.)
Last night's dream - I was playing some kind of virtual reality game (? not really sure). I attempted to jump/perform some kind of maneuver, but I also changed the direction I was looking at the same time (like moving the view joystick at the same time as the movement joystick?) and I had forgotten that the view change would shift how the movement was directed. This caused my cohorts and myself to fall off the side of the bridge or pier we were jumping to. I asked the other two party members (who were actually NPCs) to climb up and not let themselves die unnecessarily; we could have died and respawned at about the same place in the game, but I didn't think it was necessary - we could recover the health we lost in the fall. On the way up the side of the slope/cliff, I discovered a basket of knitting/crochet supplies, and I decided to delay continuing the game journey so I could do some crafting. I think I woke up around this time, but I remember how cozy and pleasant it was to look at the basket of yarn and to begin a crochet project.
I think there are some themes worth a little meditation in those two dreams.
